Colab between Hyakkimaru and myself. Line arts by :iconhyakkimaru1: [link] Colors by moi.

We came up with the idea after joking about selling a tombstone with the words engraved, "Press start to continue." He found it hilarious and came up with this scene.
It's kinda of sad what they've done to these once great characters.

Sega Killed Sonic(it's true), Capcom killed Mega Man (true also), and Nintendo doesn't give a damn about Star Fox. :( All great characters that aren't getting the games they deserve.

Here's the original line art by Hyakkimaru.

Totally true, in my expert opinion (joking) Sega could revive Sonic if they did a modern game with great new 3d graphics and played exactly like the 16 and 32 bit games just without any story or breaks from the action, cept maybe the chaos garden. I never played Megaman though, but a friend of mine was crushed with the downfall. And I loved Starfox, the last one for the gamecube was great, if only it had been longer. And I like how you colored the piece, there is a lot of color but its not overstimulated so the attention is on the somber subject.

No doubt about Sonic, but the others are debatable. Mega Man got a new game last year, & I hear there's another Star Fox game in the works for the Wii.

Yeah, while I have no huge beef with Sonic's recent titles personally, ("Sonic Rush Adventure" is the best Sonic game in years) it does seem like Sega has been kinda "hurrying" his 3D games to much, I admit.
It is sad to see his games so critically hated, it's practically become "cool" to hate Sonic nowadays. (I admit, "Black Knight" & the the "Warehog" game don't look bad, but they don't look "great" either.)
At least his comic series is still going strong. (Just passed it's 200th issue.)

Mega Man hasn't really gotten much love besides MM9, and from what I hear most people hate those "Battle Network RPGs" Capcom keeps making. So I can understand putting him on a tombstone to.

And Star Fox, oh Star Fox, how I miss thee. :( While the last 3 games weren't bad, they were rubbish compared to "Star Fox 64," & "Star Fox" SNES.

These 3 truelly great game heroes do need an extra life from their developers, and go back to what made them "great." Rather then always trying to retool them with every new game.
